I'm running for the State Assembly with Bill Brown here in Burlington County because I believe that our state government in Trenton is broken and needs real change. The incumbent assemblymembers here in the 8th district have ignored our taxpayers' call to lower taxes and spending. While families struggle to pay their bills and make ends meet during this economic crisis, our elected officials are still "talking" about what they'll do.
It's time to stop talking and start acting. But first we must elect leaders committed to bringing real change to our government. I am an independent minded leader who has stood up to members of my own party when it was in the best interests of the taxpayers. I will challenge the party bosses to help clean up the mess in Trenton. I will push an agenda to cap stat spending, implement zero-based budgeting and promote performance-based budgeting by requiring agencies to prove the merits of their request for more of the taxpayers' money.
Like you, I am a taxpayer -- and I believe that government should live within its means just like our families do each and every day.
